Observed a large bipedal figure crossing a trail at dusk. Estimated height 8–9 ft. Strong musky odor lingered for several minutes after the figure disappeared into the treeline.
Three distinct humps visible for approximately 90 seconds approximately 200 metres from shore. Filmed on a mobile phone in HD — footage shared with the Loch Ness Centre.
A winged humanoid shape perched on a fire escape for nearly 3 minutes before launching into the air and disappearing northward at high speed. Red reflective eyes clearly visible.
Found a 22-inch footprint in soft creek-side mud. Cast the print using plaster. Print shows a dermal ridge pattern consistent with prior casts from the area.
Found six goats dead, each with two puncture wounds at the neck and completely exsanguinated. No predator tracks around the bodies. Motion-camera footage shows a hairless dog-like creature.
Discovered a trail of large footprints in fresh snow leading up a steep slope. Prints measured 13 inches with a stride of over 4 feet. A single coarse grey-brown hair collected for analysis.

What is a cryptid?
A cryptid is an animal whose existence is claimed from eyewitness accounts, folklore or disputed evidence but has not been confirmed by mainstream science. Squatch Reports catalogues 16 of them, from Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster to Mothman and the Chupacabra. Each profile carries an evidence tier from 1 (anecdotal) to 5 describing the strongest type of evidence reported for it, which is not a measure of whether it actually exists.
What are the most reported cryptids?
Ranked by the approximate number of notable sightings in this registry's catalogue, the most reported cryptids are Bigfoot (about 10,000), Chupacabra (about 2,000), Loch Ness Monster (about 1,200), Thunderbird (about 800) and Jersey Devil (about 500). These counts are rough estimates of reported encounters, not confirmed observations.
Where are Bigfoot sightings most common?
Bigfoot reports come from across North America, mostly from forested and mountainous areas, and this registry does not rank regions by sighting count. The Bigfoot community reports currently on record here come from Olympic National Park, Washington and Bluff Creek, Humboldt County, California. To see where recent reports cluster, open the Map tab, which plots live BFRO reports (placed at the center of their state, since the feed gives state and county rather than exact coordinates) alongside community reports, filterable by date from 1970 to today.
Where does the sighting data on Squatch Reports come from?
There are two sources, labelled separately. The live BFRO feed pulls recent reports from the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (bfro.net), refreshed about every 6 hours, and shows BFRO's own Class A, B or C rating with a link to the full report; these are investigated and classified by BFRO, and we do not re-verify them. Community reports are submitted through this site's report form and are unverified unless explicitly marked. Cryptid profiles summarise reported accounts and folklore rather than confirmed species.
How do I report a cryptid sighting?
Open the Sightings tab and click "+ Report a Sighting". Choose the cryptid, enter where it happened and describe what you saw, heard or found in at least 30 characters (up to 2,000). You can also add the date, your initials or an alias, latitude and longitude, and the type of evidence. The form rejects future dates, exact duplicates of an existing report and repeat submissions within 30 seconds, and new reports are marked unverified. Bigfoot encounters can also be reported directly to the BFRO at bfro.net.
How can I get alerts about new sightings?
Open the profile page for the cryptid you want to follow from the Cryptid Field Guide list on this page (for example, /cryptids/bigfoot) and enter your email in the sighting-report signup on that page (on the Bigfoot page it reads "Get new Bigfoot sighting reports by email"). It is free and sends a short digest when new reports and field notes are added for that cryptid.
